JOIN OUR EVENT 

The 19th Annual Northwest Florida Volunteer Firefighter Weekend has been scheduled for September 18-22, 2024. Online Registration for all classes begin on June 1, 2024 by clicking on the “Registration Information” link below. Online Registration will close on Thursday, September 19th at 6 pm CDT. Walk-in Registrations are welcomed during the Event but classes maybe limited in choices.

Check-in, lunches, and vendors will be located in TBD. All of our classes will start at 8 am CDT and lunch by Jim-n-Nicks BBQ on Saturday and Firehouse Subs on Sunday will be served from 11:45am till 1pm.

Participants will receive a T-shirt upon checking-in. On the Online Registration Form, please indicate your T-shirt size so we know what size to order for you.

HANDS-ON TRAINING PROGRAMS

This volunteer firefighter training event features numerous hands-on training opportunities. This includes vehicle extrication, wild land operations, USAR, medical training, and more. This is the perfect training event to take your volunteer firefighter skills to new levels. COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

LIVE BURN TRAINING

This event offers live burn training to assist with task book completion. The evolutions will consist of an exterior Class ‘A’ fire, dumpster fire, vehicle fire, grade “room & content” fire and below grade “room & content” fire. Upon completion of the live burns, the Firefighter I candidate will have completed five of the six live burns required for Firefighter I certification.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Northwest Florida Volunteer Firefighter Weekend Council, Inc. was awarded a FEMA SAFER grant in September 2016 for the amount of $938,000 which is to be spread over the next 4 years. This Grant will be used to provide scholarships for those attending the Event. A number of courses are available for scholarships, as well as other amazing opportunities. The Annual Northwest Florida Firefighter Volunteer Weekend is held in Niceville, Florida which is located in the southern part of Okaloosa County, Florida. The Event is is held at the Northwest Florida State College which is located at 100 E. College Boulevard, Niceville, FL 32578.
